The association meets monthly to discuss all aspects of the landlord’s business, we exchange ideas, share problems and provide expert advice.There are regular guest speakers covering topics from Legislation updates and Housing Benefit to finance and tax issues. Minutes are circulated to all members
Committee members regularly liaise with local bodies including Housing Benefit, Environmental Health and the Police and Darlington Borough Council's Landlord Accreditation Scheme.
In addition to our free property advertising on www.letslet.net we have our own advert in local papers and provide a free letting line service where all members properties can be advertised. Letting boards, rentbooks and stationary including an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement are available to help members manage their property lettings.
We maintain a comprehensive database of Tenant Reference Information for members only which is fully registered under the Data Protection Act.
We subscribe to a nationally recognised code of practice and members agree to abide by our charter to ensure good standards of service and provision within the private rented sector:

•That communications with tenants should be accurate, clear, concise and courteous.
•To provide assistance to ensure the tenancy agreement is understood.
•To inspect properties at regular intervals.
•To levy rents and other charges in accordance with the law.

•To help tenants to seek advice on benefits
•To keep informed with developments in the law affecting tenants rights.
•To follow clear policies and procedures for handling tenant disputes.
